Estamp is collecting information
for a new handbook for artists who are involved with
printmaking in all its forms. This new book (to be
published in 1998) will give guidance and information
about the profession of fine art printmaking from the
training of printers right through to pricing and
selling work, aspects of self-promotion, fund
raising, legal issues and copyright. It will contain
listings from around the world of workshops,
publishers, galleries as well as information on
international competitions, awards, opportunities and
associations, etc.
A section on curating prints will
include major international print collections. It
aims to be a comprehensive and packed volume for
artists' use - in many ways a picture of the
printmaking profession around the world today.
In order to ensure that our
information is comprehensive, we would be very
pleased if you could find the time to send any
addresses or information you may have (however
insignificant you feel it might be. The information
should be about any printmaking workshop or activity
in any country in any of the following categories:
- Workshops (open access or
master printer)
- Biennales, triennales,
recurring competitions
- National printmaking
associations/centres
- Established specialist
galleries/publishers
- Specialist material suppliers
of repute
- Universities with specific
printmaking courses
- International education
opportunities
- Printmaking scholarships
- International awards or other
events.
