A precedent-setting online juried
exhibition of 26 fine art prints by 23 members of the
California Society of Printmakers (CSP) is
accompanied by a real-world gallery exhibition at
Contra Costa College, through March 13, 1998.
"Printmaking: People and
Process," online at: http://users.lanminds.com/~jeaneger/csp/
is the first juried world wide web exhibition of the
CSP, the second oldest printmaking organization in
the United States. The actual exhibition can be seen
at the Eddie Rhodes Gallery in the art building at
Contra Costa College, 2600 Mission Bell Drive, San
Pablo, CA between 10 am and 4 pm, Monday
through Thursday, and 10 am to noon on Fridays,
through March 13. Exhibition judges Paul Pratchenko,
a painting instructor at San Francisco State
University; and Kim Thoman, instructor of digital art
at Vista College, Berkeley, chose the prints for both
gallery and online viewing. The printmaking processes
on display include etchings, woodcuts, linocuts,
digital transfers (computer-generated images), and
monoprints.
